How should I use Intazide (Balsalazide)? Intazide (Balsalazide) tablets should be taken by mouth, and swallowed whole with a glass of water. You should follow the instructions of your physician, and only take the amount prescribed to you. Adult patients are sometimes told to take this drug 3 times per day. It is normally taken for a period of 8 weeks, however, your physician may tell you to take it for a longer period of time, sometimes as long as 12 weeks.
