What is Depsol-25 (Imipramine Hydrochloride) used for?

Depsol (Imipramine Hydrochloride) is used to treat the symptoms of depression. This drug is a type of tricyclic antidepressant, which works by helping to restore the balance of natural substances in the brain, such as norepinephrine which in turn helps to improve the patient's mood, appetite, sleep, energy level as well as interest in everyday life. How should I use Depsol-25 (Imipramine Hydrochloride)?

Depsol (Imipramine Hydrochloride) tablets are taken orally. Patients are sometimes directed to take one tablet 1 to 4 times daily, or as directed by their physician. If this medication is being given to a child for the treatment of bedwetting, your physician may prescribe separate doses, such as once in the afternoon, and once before bedtime. If used to treat bedwetting, this drug is generally only given for a maximum of three months, after which a full medical examination should be given. What are the side effects of Depsol-25 (Imipramine Hydrochloride)?

Some side effects which may occur as a result of taking Depsol (Imipramine Hydrochloride) include:

• Unpleasant taste or dryness in the mouth
• Drowsiness, fatigue or dizziness
• Nausea, loss of appetite or diarrhea
• Swelling of the breasts
• Blurred vision or ringing noise in the ears

Other side effects include decreased sexual ability and nightmares. Consult your physician immediately if any of these side effects persist or worsen, or if you notice changes in urination, rapid weight gain, chest pain, a fast pounding heartbeat, breathlessness or uncontrolled bodily movements.
