Patients may also be told to take it on a schedule, usually once per day, or sometimes more. Your physician will inform you of the dosage required, based on the severity of your condition. It is also important to drink plenty of water in order to replace fluids lost as a result of diarrhea. Call your physician if you don't notice an improvement in your symptoms within 2 days, or within 10 days if you are treating chronic diarrhea.
