What is Vermox (Mebendazole) used for?

Vermox (Mebendazole) prevents the growth or multiplication of worms in the body. It belongs to a group of medications known as amtihelmentics, which work by killing parasitic worms which infect the body. This drug is used to treat pinworm, (Enterobius vermicularis), whipworm, roundworm, hookworm and other worm infections.

How should I use Vermox (Mebendazole)?

Vermox (Mebendazole) comes in the form of orange flavored tablets. This drug is normally given as a single dose, with one 100mg tablet being taken. This medication should only be given to a child if advised to do so by a physician. It may sometimes be necessary to take one more dose 2 to 4 weeks after the first treatment, in order to prevent re-infection. Your physician will tell you whether or not it is necessary to do this.

What are the side effects of Vermox (Mebendazole)?

Vermox (Mebendazole) may cause mild side effects, such as stomach pain or nausea. However, if any other side effects are noticed, a physician should be consulted immediately.
