What is Bupron SR (Bupropion HCL) used for?

Bupron SR (Bupropion HCL) is an antidepressant. It is effective in helping to improve feelings of well-being, as well as treating seasonal affective disorder. However, it is important to note that the exact dosage depends on the condition being treated. Patients should always consult their physician before taking this medication so that the correct dosage can be prescribed to them. You should never exceed 450mg per day. If you exceed the recommended dose, there is an increased risk of seizures. It is common for physicians to prescribe low dosages at first, and to gradually increase the dosage over a period of time. It should be noted that this drug often takes up to 4 weeks for the full benefits to be felt by the patient.

What are the side effects of Bupron SR (Bupropion HCL) ?

Some side effects which may occur as a result of taking Bupron SR (Bupropion HCL) include:

• Dryness in the mouth
• Increased perspiration
• Nausea or constipation
• Headache or dizziness
• Blurred vision

Other side effects such as joint aches or sore throat may occur. Consult your physician immediately if any of the above listed side effects persist or worsen, or if you notice changes in hearing, fainting, chest pain, tremors, changes in the amount of urine, hallucinations or fever.
