What is Gravol (Dimenhydrinate) used for?

Gravol (Dimenhydrinate) is used to help prevent the occurrence of motions sickness symptoms such as dizziness, nausea and vomiting. This drug is also used in the prevention of balance problems, such as vertigo and inner ear problems. It is believed that this drug works by inhibiting the action of a natural substance in the body, known as acetylcholine, and preventing it from affecting the inner ear, thereby helping the body to maintain a sense of balance.

How should I use Gravol (Dimenhydrinate)?

Gravol (Dimenhydrinate) tablets should be taken orally, at least 30 minutes to 1 hour prior to travelling. Children over 12 years of age and adults may take this drug every 4 to 6 hours to help prevent or treat motion sickness, however children 12 years old and younger may be given this drug every 6 to 8 hours. You should follow the instructions on the label, and consult your physician for further advice. This drug should not be given to children 2 years old and younger unless a physician has told you to do so.

What are the side effects of Gravol (Dimenhydrinate)?

When using Gravol (Dimenhydrinate) to treat or prevent motion sickness or other conditions, you may experience some side effects, such as:

• A dizzy sensation
• Clouded vision
• A decrease in your coordination
• Dryness in the nose, mouth or throat
