What is Glinate (Nateglinide) used for?

Glinate (Nateglinide) is used to treat type 2 diabetes. It may be used alone, or together with other medications. This drug is in a class of medications known as meglitinides, which work by helping the body to regulate the amount of sugar in the blood, while also helping the pancreas to release insulin, which can help to reduce sugar levels. This helps to control type 2 diabetes.

How should I use Glinate (Nateglinide)?

Glinate (Nateglinide) tablets should be taken orally. Patients may be directed to take this medication up to 30 minutes before meals, and normally 3 times per day or as directed by their physician. Your physician may advise you to skip a dose if you are skipping a meal, and you may also be directed to add a dose if you add a meal. The dosage will vary, and you must discuss your diet and meals with your physician so that the correct dosing instructions can be given to you by your physician.
