What is R-Cin 450 (Rifampicin IP) used for?

R-Cin 450 (Rifampicin IP) is used to treat tuberculosis. It may be used together with other medications to treat this condition. It is also used as a treatment for some people with neisseria meningitidis, a type of bacteria which can cause meningitis infections. People with this are given this drug to prevent them from infecting others. However, it is not used to treat people who have already been diagnosed with meningitis. It may also be used to treat other types of bacterial infection. This drug is known as a type of antimycobacterials, which kills the bacteria responsible for the infection.

How should I use R-Cin 450 (Rifampicin IP)?

R-Cin 450 (Rifampicin IP) capsules are taken orally, usually on an empty stomach. You should take them either 1 hour before eating or else 2 hours after meals. Patients using this antibiotic to treat tuberculosis are normally told to take it once per day, whereas those being given it to prevent neisseria meningitidis from spreading to other people are normally told to take it twice daily for two days. Patients taking this drug to treat tuberculosis may be told to take it for several months, or even longer. Follow all instructions provided to you by your physician and take it for the entire period for which it was prescribed.

Side effects of R-Cin 450 (Rifampicin IP) include:
