What is Solox (Lansoprazole) used for?

Solox (Lansoprazole) works in the stomach to reduce the production of stomach acid. It belongs to a class of medications called proton pump inhibitors. If the lining of the stomach is damaged, or if too much acid is produced in the stomach, a peptic ulcer may form on the lining of the stomach. Sometimes, excess production of stomach acid can flow back into the esophagus (gastroesophageal reflux disease), thereby causing heartburn or other pain. By reducing the amount of stomach acid, this drug can provide relief from the above mentioned conditions. It is also used to treat other related conditions.
