What is Frontier (Fipronil) used for?

Frontier (Fipronil) is an effective treatment for tick and flea infestations affecting dogs. The active ingredient in this solution is an insecticide which is effective in killing fleas and ticks when applied to the dog's skin. Treating dogs for flea infestations can help to prevent symptoms caused by fleas such as severe itchiness, ulceration of the skin and loss of hair.

How should I use Frontier (Fipronil)?

Frontier (Fipronil) solution comes in pipettes. Break the seal at the top of the pipette before applying it to your dog. To apply the solution to the dog's skin, you should pull the hair apart at the back of the dog's neck, just above its shoulder. Make sure that the skin is visible before you apply it. Place the tip of the pipette on the dog's skin, and squeeze gently on it several times, until you have emptied its entire contents. The prescribing vet will tell you how often you need to apply it to your dog. You may be told to use it on the animal once every 2 weeks.

What are the side effects of Frontier (Fipronil)?

If you apply Frontier (Fipronil) to your dog, it may exhibit signs of mild irritation at the application site. Take it to see a vet if you believe it to be suffering from any side effects.
